ART IN THE CITY - Toula Liasi
Toula Liasi was born in Agia Triada, Karpasia, in 1957 and lived there until the age of eighteen. In 1975, after remaining enclaved for one year, she left to study in Athens and later in the Netherlands, where she completed her studies in the visual arts.
She studied drawing and painting at the Veloudakis School in Athens (1975–1980), at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (1980–1984), and later pursued Fine Arts in Education at the Willem de Kooning Academy (2004–2006) and at the Piet Zwart Institute (MA, 2013–2015) in Rotterdam.
She has held solo exhibitions in the Netherlands and Cyprus and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Greece, and Cyprus. Since 1980, she has been living in The Hague, where she works as an artist and art educator.
Through the #ArtInTheCity series by #PIOCyprus, the work of Cypriot artists from different fields of art is presented, as part of the promotion of Cyprus’s historical and cultural heritage.
